Spicy Grilled Tilapia

It’s important to consume enough protein to maintain and build lean, strong muscle. Remember, the more lean muscle you have on your frame, the faster your metabolism will be. With a faster metabolism, you burn more calories throughout the day (hello… easier fat loss!).

Try to eat a source of lean protein with each and every meal. Here is one of my go-to, super-easy tilapia recipes! Tilapia is very easy to cook and it’s hard to go wrong with spices, as it’s a very bland fish on its own.

Spicy Grilled Tilapia

  • 8 ounces tilapia
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon curry powder
  • 6 ounces fresh asparagus
  • 1 whole red bell pepper
  1. Heat up the barbecue or grill. Rinse tilapia filets and set aside. Cut bell pepper into slender slices and microwave for 3 minutes (optional, but this softens it a bit before you grill it). Spread olive oil on tilapia and sprinkle spices on top. Brush olive oil on the grill and plop the asparagus and bell pepper on there. After about 5 minutes, add the fish. It should take about several minutes to cook one side (the exact time totally depends on how hot your grill gets) when you see the sides of the fish begin to turn white, flip them. When they’re done, serve immediately.
