Master Reset

Psychological or mental resilience is the capacity to deal with psychological stress. The ability to stay cool under pressure is one of the keys to optimal nervous system health. Psychological resilience is to develop the capacity to meet high-stakes challenges and psychological events without shifting into fight-or-flight mode.
We are all confronted with the stress of many kinds throughout our daily lives. Our adrenal gland makes cortisol in response to stress. As a stress hormone, cortisol is valuable in mobilizing energy for us to meet immediate challenges, but it can have negative consequences when it stays in the nervous system too long.

The following graph, adapted from Why Zebras Don’t Get Ulcers by Robert Sapolsky uses cortisol levels to show how the nervous system responds to stress:

In this graph, line A is the goal. Following line A, the sympathetic nervous system rises to meet a challenge, like a workout or a high-stakes situation. Once the person has dealt with that challenge, the parasympathetic nervous system takes over, allowing the body to replenish energy, restore balance, and rebuild muscle as it recovers. This is a healthy cortisol response. This is how we want the nervous system to function.
Line B represents an unhealthy cortisol response, not to mention one of the most common health problems in modern society: remaining in a stressed-out, fight-or-flight state for too long. This is what it looks like when the sympathetic nervous system gets triggered and can’t find its way back to rest-and-digest mode. In this state, cortisol levels go high and stay high.
Line C in the graph represents someone who remains in a parasympathetic state (i.e., at a low cortisol level), regardless of the stress or challenge. This low cortisol level can indicate a freeze response, where the nervous system is so depleted it’s unable to mount a response to a stressor. At the other extreme, it can also indicate a high level of nervous system resilience, without needing to rely on a jolt of stress hormones.

What does Master Reset do?

The Autonomic Nervous System controls heartbeat, breathing, digestion, elimination, circulation, temperature control, etc. It is fair to say it controls the inside of our body. It has 2 parts: Sympathetic (Flight and Fight Response) and Parasympathetic (Rest and Digest)… The Master Reset has a profound effect on the Parasympathetic Nervous System which is responsible for restoring the body to a state of calm, slowing the heart rate, improving heart rate variability, digestion of food, sleeping, and relaxing muscles. The Master Reset is an incredible way to impact the autonomic nervous system with a “whole body” approach.

The technology behind Master Reset

Neubie utilizes Direct Current (DC), which is important because it has numerous, positive biological effects. DC fields have been shown to accelerate the body’s own physiological processes of healing, repair, and regeneration as opposed to alternating current (AC) where the signal can’t reach a high enough level to trigger the neuroplastic response. Most of the TENS unit utilizes AC current.

What can Master Reset Help with?

Master Reset can help with as follows: muscle spasms, headaches, constipation, feeling fatigued, and stress. Master Reset can increase HRV, which is a powerful indicator of parasympathetic nervous system function and has profound effects on overall health, recovery, and the ability to handle physical, psychological, and emotional stress.

During a Master Reset Session:

A compassionate Heal n Cure team member will be there to coach you to breathe and move through the current, so you adapt to the current instead of fighting against it. Each time this happens, your brain learns that it’s capable of handling more challenges than you previously thought. Over time, this process leads to positive neurological adaptations, including greater psychological resilience. The breath is key to facilitating these adaptations and building resilience, both physical and psychological.
